RSS Reader

I’ve often considered the RSS Readers supplied by NewsGator to be amongst the best, but I’ve not mentioned them here before, as they had a price to them. Now, however, you can get them for free.

NewsGator yesterday announced that all of their RSS Readers, including FeedDemon (the Windows variant) and NetNewsWire (the Mac variant) will be available free of charge. Both of these now move to the top of my “Best RSS Reader” list.

Although I’ve been a long-time Google Reader user, I do prefer the desktop variants. They tend to be faster and update their feeds more quickly and generally be more feature rich.

One of the terrific features of the NewsGator offerings is the Synchronisation between the client and the server. Whether I’m using a Windows machine, Mac or the browser based variant, I have access to all the feeds I have subscribed to.
